Segment Controller for Small & Medium Business and OEM - Microsoft Turkey

Mission
The primary purpose of this position is to partner with Segment Leads of SMS&P (Small and Medium Business Solution and Partners Group) and OEM by providing management, financial/business support and leadership to enable future growth.

Experience / Educational Requirements
• Min. 5 years of multinational work experience in Financial Analysis and Planning, Accounting, Consulting, Auditing and/or Business Management.
• Experience in IT industry, Global Software industry and/or Sales & Marketing.
• MBA degree and Accountancy qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities
Business Reporting, Analysis and Insights
• Manage reporting and analysis activities to ensure solid financial understanding of the respective businesses by business partners.
• Provide insights to identify growth and productivity opportunities.
• Assist senior leaders in decision making and understanding of issues.
• Benchmark with other Subs to identify and implement best practices.

Planning and Forecasting
• Drive and support a robust planning and forecasting process, with risks and sensitivities and underlying assumptions identified – coordinate input, flag anomalies & ensure data is consistent.
• Understand the systems, policies & processes that create the numbers and drive best practice to ensure that budgets and forecasts are accurate and realistic.

Business Support
• Create and maintain professional business partnerships with internal customers.
• Ensure formal and ad hoc queries are dealt within an accurate and timely fashion, with a focus on being proactive, rather than reactive.
• Actively participate in key business meetings (e.g. Rhythm of Business calls) and support business partners.
• Exhibit Finance leadership and help develop business opportunities in each Business Group/Segment.

Business Controlling
• Ensure teams are aware of and follow corporate policies related to sales and marketing activities.
• Provide leadership in terms of business compliance and support the management team in related issues.

Incentive Compensation Plans
• Provide incentive compensation leadership for the segments
• Be responsible for providing direction and support to the business regarding the incentive compensation plan, tools and processes.
• Support accurate and audited quota setting, the bi-annual payout processes, monitor revenue and quota adjustments and feedback plan improvements.

The role will report to Subsidiary Business Controller

Locations
MS Turkey - Istanbul

Partnerships & Interdependencies
Key relationships & partnerships that will have to be developed and maintained with :
o Managers in SMS&P and OEM Segments
o Business Group Leads, Product Managers
o Area Controller, Segment and Business Group Leads
o Business and Marketing Organization
o Key revenue players/influencers
o Operations: Regional Operation Centers, MS Sales, Business Desk
o Finance peers, Corp HQ Finance teams, Forecasting and Planning groups.

Required Competencies / Skills
• Experience with business processes and systems; including systems development, planning, forecasting, order processing; invoicing, credit, collection, and sales credit tracking.
• Ability to drive effective implementation of procedures and policies to support operational business requirements across organizational boundaries.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written), establishes trust quickly, and creates win-win situations.
• Experience in working in multiple organizations with emphasis on communicating and decision making with demonstrated ability to work under pressure. Must be motivated by interdependency.
• Be a team player with an ability to manage cross group and cross country boundaries.
